Maaro Isar (2018) - Rishmit Puri
"Maaro Isar" is a slice of life or in other words a 'kissa' about a Mother and her Son and their daily morning routine. Everyday in the morning they would travel to the neighboring village for the 7 am morning prayer at the temple of "shri Govind dev ji" but tomorrow the son is leaving the town for his higher studies and this daily routine will thus cease.
The short film "Maaro Isar" reflects the inner dilemma of every mother and the struggle to let go of
their protective nature and the failure of every son to understand this struggle.

The Idea was to create a blend of 2D animation over 3D backgrounds. 3D renders from Maya were painted over and animated in Photoshop and TVPaint.
The Idea behind the scooter was to act as a witness to the conversation of the mother and the son, as a matter of fact "the scooter" is the third character of the story, a silent being who shares this journey with the duo.
